The police in Milledgeville, Ga., who are investigating a 20-year-old woman’s claim that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger sexually assaulted her at a nightclub, said they expected to interview Roethlisberger and about eight other people in the next several days.
The police said they had not taken a DNA sample from him but probably would. Roethlisberger has not been charged, and his lawyer, Ed Garland, disputed the woman’s claim. “The facts show that there was no criminal activity; no sexual assault occurred,” Garland said in a statement. “Ben is completely innocent of any crime.”
